We will always be your advocate when dealing with your insurance
company. However, please remember that we have no control over the
quality or extent of your coverage. Due to constantly changing insurance regulations, benefits, and deductibles, we are only able to approximate your insurance coverage. Companies can change benefits, co-pays and deductibles many times throughout the year. We do our best to provide you with the most accurate coverage estimates based on the information provided from your insurance company. At times, it is impossible to accurately estimate your co-payment as some companies will not give out fees until after the treatment is completed. Also, your needs may be different from what the policy covers. Ultimately, our goal is to provide you with the best of care regardless of your insurance coverage.
Some important points about dental insurance:
Insurance reimbursement is a contract between you, your employer and your insurance company. Your are responsible for the payment of your account including any fees your carrier declines to pay. Again, we will do our best to help you with the benefits and coverage you have.
Our treatment recommendations and fees are based on your needs, not what your insurance may or may not provide for. Some insurance companies will use confusing language, such as “usual and customary fees,” to define what they will pay for. These reasons are typically based on the quality of policy you have but have nothing to do with usual nor customary.
As a courtesy to our patients with medical and/or dental benefit plans, we will submit necessary claim forms, receipts, and other information to your insurance company to make sure you are reimbursed as promptly as possible.
Although we will gladly file your claim on your behalf, you may wish to submit the claim yourself. In general, insurers process claims filed directly by patients faster than those filed by dental offices.
Our office is a preferred provider with the following insurance companies:
* Cigna Dental
* Delta Dental PPO
* Guardian
We want to also encourage referral of patients covered with other Insurance plans who we will treat as “out of network” providers. As an “out of network” specialist provider, the insurance allowances for are very close to our routine fee schedule and actually exceeds our fees for many procedures.
